Power Assemblies are a leader in the design and manufacture of custom switchboards. They offer a wide range of innovative custom-built solutions for any customer. Our brief was to brand Power Assemblies as a separate entity from their existing business and give them their own respected and trusted identity. The new branding had to tell a story that delivered confidence and innovation, reflecting the Power Assemblies approach.
We chose a bold typeface by New Zealand’s own font designer, Kris Sowersby, adding to the kiwi heritage of the brand. The typeface speaks confidence and features custom letterforms ensuring uniqueness to the Power Assemblies brand. The minimalistic, tailored letter forms suggest an innovative brand and reflect the structural component of engineering.
We aimed to highlight the materials commonly associated with this industry by thoughtfully incorporating a copper texture and colour into the brand elements. This decision allowed Power Assemblies to differentiate themselves from their competitors, who typically use more common colour schemes. We're proud of the impact this design choice had on the brand's visual identity.
